Bley

Bley (or blay in US spelling) is a term used to refer to the new versions of LEGO grey and dark grey (see the Colour change article) introduced by LEGO for the early 2004 releases (first appearances were in late 2003). It is a contraction of blue and grey, referring to the bluer tint of the new colours. There is a great deal of angst amongst AFOLs with regards to this change.

The first recorded use of the term 'blay' was on 20th November 2003 in this Lugnet post followed by the alternate spelling 'bley' on the same day in this post.
