Brickplate

Brickplate is a term sometimes used to describe the large bricks that can be used in much the same way as a baseplate or similar box lids that have been used in some sets.

The term is not used by all fans and there is no clear definition of what is or is not a brickplate but for many the dividing line is a brick that is larger than two - studs in both length and width such as:
