Custom minifig

A custom minifig is a regular LEGO minifigure that has been altered from stock to some degree.
Customization can include:
- simply swapping LEGO elements such as hands, heads, torsos, or other accessories to create a new figure.
- using paint, stickers or decals to change the appearance of a fig. Brasso is often used to remove printing.
- cutting, melting or attaching new parts to a minifig.
This is perhaps the most common part customisation and some AFOLs make a hobby of it, sometimes selling minifig representations of popular characters. For some examples see [1] and [2]. The Minifig Customization Network (or MCN) exists as an online community for customizers.
