ALittleSlow's To-Do List

Things jotted down as I think of them, that don't belong in Brickwiki:To-do list.

* Move the ToDo List to a separate page as it's not just YOUR todo list, some of us can help. For example surely one of us can do the ImageBoxExt template work. :) ++Lar: t/

I've been debating that with myself for some time. It did start out as just my list, but has outgrown that. --ALittleSlow complete ALittleSlow .

* Propose a category of pages [[Trustees]] should watch? ALittleSlow

Sorry to drop in on your list but I am fixing the link above using nowiki to keep it out of error reports as we decided to go a different route. Tedward
Whoops, I realized you were just trying to link to the Trustees page, sorry. Tedward
No prob, and yes, this one is obsolete. --ALittleSlow

Re:Conference thing

Hey, I can't do it myself at that time, but I'll see if one of the other admins/users could make it to that. Ajraddatz

Thanks! How's the move/launch going? I didn't see any announcements on lego.wikia.com. Is this going to be more of a fork than a relocation?
Wikia won't let us relocate, so it is a fork. They won't even let us advertise the move O_o
Fortunately, we have Brickset and a couple of other very popular sites that are going to advertise the new site for us for a while anyway. Almost all of the community is moving over too, including all of the major content editors, so we'll have the best info out of the two wikis. Eventually, I hope that the visitors move over as well. Ajraddatz
Wow, shades of WikiTravel... surprised Wikia is taking this position, given their close(ish) ties to WMF, which just fought the other side of that battle with Internet Brands.
Wikia has long abandoned any hint of what is traditionally considered a "wiki". They've completely monetized all of the content on their sites with endless ads, and have a nearly-perfect track record of not listening to the communities they host. But, their (basically non-existent current) connection with Wikimedia gives them all of the Google search results, meaning that they continue to get more readers and editors despite their model of customer dis-service. Needless to say I have some strong feelings on the matter. Ajraddatz

Back to the conference topic, Ajraddatz, any luck finding someone who like to present with me? Or failing that, any promotional material you'd like me to share? Brickworld is just two weeks away. Presentation is on Friday, June 14 at 2:00 CST (the after lunch crowd :O). ALITTLESlow: t/

GBC Thanks

Loving the new GBC category. Good work! Tedward

Thanks. However, I felt constrained by What BrickWiki is not and just fell into ownership of https://greatballcontraption.com. A new wiki under that name and for that purpose is almost fully operational now. In fact I shamelessly imported the GBC content from BW to start that site (with due attribution). The bad news for BrickWiki is that most of my GBC content will now go there. The good news for BrickWiki is that I have been linking back to articles on BrickWiki. And we know one of the main factors in a site's importance isn't what it links to, but what links to it. ALITTLESlow: t/

Modular Standards in Techniques

To answer your question: yes that was a good idea to add Category:Modular_building_standards to Category:Techniques. Cannot imagine why I did not think of it sooner! Tedward

Cool. ALITTLESlow: t/
